Welcome Back Letter!

September 17th, 2013
Singers, Parents and guardians,
Welcome to New York University’s Children’s Chorus. Each year brings us exciting new singers, music and friends.
There are two requirements for any child to sing: 1) the child wants to sing in the choir and 2) the child and parents commit to attending and giving their best to all rehearsals and concerts. If a child is sick and will miss a rehearsal or concert, please email me.
Each rehearsal runs from 3:45 to 4:45, every Tuesday, from Sept. 10th to Dec. 17th. We will resume in January after a winter break and we will have a concert in May. Please be on time, leave distracting objects at home, and be ready to sing!
Parents and guardians, because the children work very hard and it is difficult to hear in the auditorium, please keep conversations very, very, very low. The room behind the auditorium is perfect for conversations, little brothers and sisters, games and treats. Due to safety reasons, please do not allow your child to run in the auditorium.
In terms of weather cancellations we will follow NYU. If NYU is open please try your best to come.
We will have our winter concert on December 3rd at 7PM. The concert will take place here in the Frederick Loewe Theater. There will also be regularly scheduled rehearsal that afternoon. We will discuss concert attire and other important concert information as the semester progresses.
Please invite friends to sing with us! It takes quantity to make quality!
When you leave the auditorium, please exit through the back doors, not the side door!
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 631-261-2783, e_l_gates@yahoo.com or Lindy at 845-661-9765 or lht220@nyu.edu
We look forward to an exciting year of singing, learning, and having fun!

Musically yours,

Elaine Gates and Lindy Toczko
