Sparklejollytwinklejingley

There’s a saying we have up north
that helps us put our best foot forth:
“If you want to deck the halls with Mister C.,
make sure they’re sparkle-jolly-twinkle-jin-gle-y!”
When a room is gloomy and its atmosphere has called it quits,
then you must remember that December is a time for glitz.
Never stop til each limb on your Christmas tree
is sparkle-jolly-twinkle-jingley!
Pick up ev’ry ornament that’s sitting, waiting on a shelf
While you’re busy decorating, why not decorate yourself?
Soon you’ll bring a smile to ev’ry person you see.
(solo): I’m sparkle-twinkle-jolly what?
(all): Close enough! And if you’re at a loss remember the phrase
that says, “To thine own elf be true (to thine own elf be true)”
for when it comes to Christmas displays,
Look inside, and you’ll know what to do.
(you’ll know just what to do.)
Put some cheery folderol on ev’ry wall and ev’ry nook.
Tinsel up each corner till it’s Christmas ev’rywhere you look.
Give the world a holiday that’s bright as can be.
Make it sparkle-jolly-twinkle-jingley!
Wah, wah wah wah wah.
Put some cheery folderol on ev’ry wall and ev’ry nook.
Tinsel up each corner till it’s Christmas ev’rywhere you look.
Give the world a holiday that’s bright as can be!
Make it sparkle jolly twinkle jingle
shiny showy cheery kringle
razzle dazzle ringalingle!
(solo): I can’t lie, it makes me tingle!
(All): Sparkle-jolly-twinkle-jingley!

Winter Fantasy

(Part 1)

Snow flakes falling all over town,

slipping, sliding, ev’rybody rushin’ ‘round

There’s an icy chill in the air

telling us that winter’s really here, Oh!

I’m so glad that winter is here!

Grab your sled and let out a happy cheer

because it’s snowing, blowing, all through the day.

Winter winds will surely blow all your cares away!

(Part 2)

Dashing through the snow, in a one-horse open sleigh.

O’er the fields we go, laughing all the way!

Bells on bobtails ring, making spirits bright.

What fun it is to laugh and sing a sleighing song tonight.

Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way!

Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.

Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way!

Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.

Spring Lyrics!

(We will be working on them, so learn your words!)

There are many different languages spoken in Ghana. Although the words of this song come from a combination of languages and have no particular meaning, they are rhythmic and up tempo. It is important to sing this song with lots of energy and spirit.

DOCTOR JAZZ

Have you heard who’s new in town,

the hippest new M. D.?

Ev’ry time your feelin’ down,

he starts you off with Do Re Mi.

Get a note from Doctor Jazz,

got a cure for ev’ry thing.

No matter what your body has,

just open up your mouth and sing.

He says open up your mouth and sing.

Doctor Jazz, gets my tem’rature risin’.

Doctor Jazz, makes me feel all right.

Doctor Jazz, he’s so super energizin’!

Doctor Jazz, he is out-o-sight!

Doctor Jazz, it’s not at all suprisin’.

Got me an appointment on Saturday night.

If by chance you caught the blues,

Your back beat just won’t kick.

If your life is all bad news

and your social scene is sick.

Take a tip from this ol’ cat

‘cause he’ll know what to do.

A little this, a lot of that,

He’ll make you feel brand new.

Yes, he’ll make you feel brand new.

Doctor Jazz! What he haz!

A supercaliclinic and some razzamatazz.

He likes to swing, and he likes to bop.

And after ev’ry date I get a lollipop!

He’s got a cure for ev’ry thing.

Just open up your mouth and sing: ah ah ah

Open up your mouth and “di di li Doctor doo dah!”

Open up your mouth and sing, LET’S GO!

Got me an appointment on Saturday night. YEAH!

 GREEN EGGS AND HAM

I do not like green eggs and ham

I do not like them, Sam-I-am

Do not like them here or there

I do not like them anywhere.

Not in a house, not with a mouse

Not here or there, not anywhere

I do not like green eggs and ham

I do not like them, Sam-I-am

Could you? Would you? With a goat?

Could you? Would you? On a boat?

Could you? Would you? In the rain?

Could you? Would you? On a train?

Not with a goat. Not on a boat.

Not in the rain. Not on a train.

Not in a house. Not with a mouse.

Oh, no!

Not in a box. Not with a fox.

Not in a tree. You let me be!

I do not like green eggs and ham!

I do not like them, Sam-I-am!

WHOO!

YEAH!

I do not like GREEN EGGS AND HAM!

DANCE DANCE DANCE

In a village called Podolga, somewhere on the upper Volga

Lived a man who played the violin.

Everynight when work was ended, he would play a tune so splendid;

Soon the merry dancing would begin.

When they heard his fiddle playing everyone would soon be swaying.

Toes would tap and feet would start to fly.

In a circle round the fire, spirits soaring ever higher,

They would raise their voices to the sky.

 (Chorus)

And they would dance (dance, dance, dance, dance, dance) together through the night.

Yes, they would dance (dance, dance, dance, dance, dance) until the morning light.

How they would dance (dance, dance, dance, dance, dance)

He’d play his magic fiddle and they’d dance; the night away.

Everywhere the fiddler stayed he took his violin and played

And soon the people came from far and wide.

Once they heard his pizzicato

there was no one who would not go

Dancing all around the country side.

With his fiddle he would work a czardas or a mad mazurka

As the people whirled around with glee.

Villagers would ask him for a trepak or lively hora;

Then kick up their heels in ecstacy.

 (Chorus)

(Chorus)

And they would dance (dance, dance, dance, dance)

Dance (dance, dance, dance, dance)

Dance (dance, dance); Dance (dance, dance)

Dance (dance, dance); Dance (dance, dance)

dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance,

Dance (dance, dance, dance) the night away!

  1. I love your choir website. I have are grades 3-5 elementary choir here in Minnesota and am wondering a) if you hand out the octavos to your kids or b) do they just get the words from your website. I would love to do the same (face it, I have a choir budget of $0 and 120 kids, most of whom haven’t gotten their choir contracts in yet!), but worry about copywrite law. Have you had any problems about this?

  2. My choir at southwestern college in San Diego, ca is singing Sparklejollytwinklejingly! And it’s so much fun! We have this awesome choreography to go with it and its just crazy I love it 🙂
