Spring 2012 Lyrics

Sing A Song
Sing, — sing, sing a song. Sing,–sing sing a song.
Sing a song of joy. Sing a song of hope.
Everybody sing, everybody sing, sing a song.
When we get to feeling sorry for ourselves,
When we get to feeling down,
If we can just remember all the good things that we have;
Then we don’t feel quite so bad,
Then we don’t fee quite so bad and we can
Sing, — sing, sing a song. Sing,–sing sing a song.
Sing a song of joy. Sing a song of hope.
Everybody sing, everybody sing,
Everybody sing, everybody sing, sing a song. Sing a Song!

This is Our Song
This is my song,
I’ll song it all day long.
This is my song,
I’ll sing it loud and strong.
No matter what may happen, no matter what may be;
My song is always part of me.
This is your song,
So sing it all day long.
This is your song,
So sing it loud and strong.
And if you’re feeling lonely or if your feeling blue;
Your song is still a special part of you,
A special part of me and you.
This is my song,
This is your song.
This is our song.

Tulips and Heather
A spray of tulips and heather,
tied up together
I sent my love today
A spray of tulips and heather,
asking her whether
Love’s dream had gone astray!

For there’s a meaning to all the flowers
They tell a story that never lies!
This purple heather, means lonely hours
And tulips weep for a love that dies!

And so I pray when they reach you,
if they can teach you
All that is in my heart
My spray of tulips and heather,
bring us together
Never again to part!

( For there’s a meaning )
My tulips and heather!
( To all the flowers )
Are tied up together!
( They tell a story . . . )
They tell you a tale . . .
that never lies!
( This purple heather . . . )
This beautiful heather . . .
( Means lonely hours . . . )
Means lonely forever . . .
( And tulips weep for . . . )
These tulips convey a love that dies!

And so I pray when they reach you,
if they can teach you
All that is in my heart
My spray of tulips and heather,
brings us together
Never again to part . . .

Darling! Never again to part . . .

Words and Music

Didn’t my Lord deliver Daniel
Didn’t my Lord deliver Daniel,
Deliver Daniel, deliver Daniel?
Didn’t my lord deliver Daniel,
Then why not a every man?
He delivered Daniel
From the lion’s den,
And Jonah from the belly of the whale,
And the Hebrew children
From the fiery furnace,
Then why not every man?

Didn’t my Lord deliver Daniel,
Deliver Daniel, deliver Daniel?
Didn’t my lord deliver Daniel,
Then why not a every man?
I set my foot
On the gospel ship,
And the ship it begin to sail,
And it landed me over
On Canaan’s shore,
And I’ll never come back no more.

Didn’t my Lord deliver Daniel,
Deliver Daniel, deliver Daniel?
Didn’t my lord deliver Daniel,
Then why not a every man?
Didn’t my Lord deliver Daniel!

Cherry Blossoms,
Oh Cherry Blossoms

Cherry blossoms, oh cherry blossoms
In the spring sky
As far as eyes can see
Is it fog or is it a cloud?
The scent!
Now
Right now
Let’s go and see

Is it fog or is it a cloud?
The scent!
Now
Right now
Let’s go and see

The Cat Came Back
Old Farmer Johnson had troubles of his own
He had a little cat which wouldn’t leave his home;
He tried and he tried to give the cat away,
He gave it to a man going far, far away.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn’t stay away.
Du-du-du-doop! Me-ow!

Farmer Johnson’s neighbor swore he’d chase him out of sight,
He donned his fastest shoes and he ran with all his might;
He waited and he waited for the cat to come around,
The Cat was quick,he ranaway and Johnson’s neighbor fell.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn’t stay away.
Du-du-du-doop! Me-ow!

He gave it to a man going up in a balloon,
He told him for to give it to the man in the moon;
The balloon came down about ninety miles away,
What happened to the man?, I really couldn’t say.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn’t stay away.
Du-du-du-doop! Me-ow!

A great tornado came just the other day,
The wind began to blow,
the trees began to sway.
Thunder struck, lightning flashed,
Darkness took the day.
The people were so frightened,
They knelt right down to pray.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn’t stay away.
Du-du-du-doop! Me-ow!
Du-wa du-du-du doop! Me-ow
Du-wa!
He just wouldn’t stay away.
Du-du-du-doop! Yeah!

Strike Up the Band!
Let the drums roll out
Let the trumpet call
While the people shout “Strike up the band”

Hear the cymbals ring
Callin’ one and all
To the martial swing, strike up the band

There is work to be done, to be done
There’s a race to be won, to be won
You son of a gun of a gun, take your stand

Form a line, oh, oh
Come on, let’s go
Hey, leader, strike up the band!

There is work to be done, to be done
There’s a race to be won, to be won
Come on, son of a gun of a gun, take your stand

Form a line, oh, oh
Come on, let’s go
Hey, Mr. Leader,
Hey, Mr. Leader,
Please strike up the band!
